Envoyez la Mode

I guess this wouldn't be my blog unless reviewed John Galliano's Spring 2009 collection for Dior. A little back story on Galliano is that he is Spanish and studied at Central St. Martins in London. The incredibly talented fashion designer then moved to Paris after working for himself for a few years and making his name in England. Galliano followed up by lead designing for the French brand, Givenchy, he was succeded by Alexander Mcqueen when he to moved over to Dior. The iconic French brand that was started in 1945 by Christian Dior, who in his day proved himself a master of shape and silhouette. Dior is most known for revolutionizing the industry with 'The New Look.' John Galliano is considered 'the artist' in the fashion world. His collections are eagerly anticipated each and every season by fashion critics and fans alike because of his ambitious approach to the female figure.

Spring 2009 was suprisingly tame for Galliano. The makeup was muted but the hair had an eager texture. The ensembles were also a more understated approach to the figure, respectively. However, the structure of the bodice and attention to color were noticeable as well as appreciated. As always with Galliano it was a show, and as an avid fan, I was not disappointed.

My favorite color!, neon green/yellow
