Hey Shout Summertime Blues.
Founder of CBGB, Hilley Kristal died today. CBGB was the hub of underground punk rock in the 80's. Hilley took his love for music & established a venue that set the stage for ground breaking music that no one else would give a chance. Bands like the Talking Heads, The Smiths, The Ramones started in the the flyer plastered venue. Its all about taking a risk & Hilley Kristal took the risk.

Be The Scene.
There's A Friendly Ghost In Town.
Casper is bombing the city with his infamous ghost & drip tag. Be on the look out for Casper he's not stopping anytime soon.
Determined.
"Loyalty, Freedom, Creativity, & Camaderie" is not only something LOLA NYC embraces, but personifies. This clothing company is grounded in freedom, anarchy & sheer dedication. LOLA NYC is run, owned & founded by 3 guys in the know since 1st grade. In the years of teenage wasteland they established Lola Prentice Memorial Park which became a prominant place for young skaters. Like all good things the park came to an end & the boys parted ways. Their love for it all brought them back together years later & they formed LOLA NYC as a dedication to the skate park. The boys are onto something. Their designers are excuted with simplicty, but their messgae resonates & sets them apart--Rebellion can establish.
Pop Art--Toasted.
Grafitti artist Denz has covered it all from freights to sneakers & now she coined the toaster. The pioneer artisit was done with the mundane tankers & oil freights & decided to take pop art to a new level. She has turned the toaster into a purse. Functionable art. Innovative design. Denz
The interior lights up.

Brand Awareness- Rojas
>
LA designer Freddie Rojas was born working in the fashion industry. His parents owned a bridal boutique in LA and his grandmother taught him how to sew. Rojas' retail experience coupled with his forward creative expression has led to international success. The 32 year old Spanish, Ecuadorian, and Peruvian designer puts out four collections a year for both men and women. The current "Urban Street" collection is straight fire for the ladies. We are loving the hooded onesies and the jewelry! Celebrity stylists are after Rojas goods each season because he really understands and embraces the Southern California style and raises the sex appeal. On the east coast you can find his merchandise at select boutiques, like Patricia Field in New York who is a long time supporter of Rojas. The dresses are casual but the detailing makes the pieces stand out. To see more of the collection, news, and store info, about Rojas, check out the website Click on images to enlarge.
"The stuff is hot, but the line was made with so much love - it has so much personality," says Rojas of his "Urban Street" collection.
"That Latin sexiness, hotness comes through in the collection, without a doubt," he says.
"It's for a girl that's confident, on the edge, who likes to be sexy and hot.
"The girl on the go that knows the beat of the street is a Rojas girl," he says.- per the New York Post

London Fashion Week Sept. 15th-20th
Just announced that Henry Holland, Danielle Scutt, and Louise Goldin will be returning to the fashion tents at London Fashion Week this September with Fashion East. Each year three womenswear designers are chosen by an industry panel to showcase rising talent at Fashion Week. Known for his quirky rhymes referencing the fashion industry on bright tees Holland has gained a cult following with his slogans. This is the second outing for Holland, Scutt, and Goldin. Danielle Scutt has fun 80's inspired dresses and suits. Goldin is known for her intricate knitwear, cashmere, collages with textured fabrics and beading.
The Coco Rocha tee is dope. Designed for the "fashion groupie" the shirts are available at Barney's and Seven in New York.

Details Are Key at J.Crew
Autumn is in just a couple of weeks. Exciting. Which means Jackets! Trench coats! Cashmere! Layering and accessories! I must say, argyle and plaids are simply classic and never go out of style. In order to have a renewed look the classics must be updated, and J.Crew does that. Currently the stores have an amazing Velvet Bella jacket. An essential jacket that will put the wow factor into for your Fall wardrobe. The ruffled collar stands tall and the classic cut is flattering. The jacket comes in a few different colors, but the Riveria Blue, Welsh Purple, and Leaf Green stand out as the stunnas. You can get fitted online here. or at a store in your area.

If you haven't checked out Brooklyn duo Matt and Kim yet, your missin out. Kim tears it up on the drums while Matt keeps the crowd hype with erratic stories from the keyboards. You can't help but dance when the beats drop. Drummers are the craziest some ma mas and Kim rocks out super female style. Givin it up kids at the Middle East, in the Cambridge section in Boston, who kept the energy flowin. At one point the ground was literally shaking which meant that PBR had to be put down so I could get in on the action. Check out Matt and Kim here

Damon Soule Solo Exhibit!!!
As we all know of my obsession of Damon Soule tonight is the night of the man of the hour himself. Soule's first solo exhibit is opening TONIGHT @ Lineage Gallery(lineagegallery.com). The exhibit is entilted Lacksadaycyle is sure to impress. If you are in Philly or the tristate area, I highly encourage checking out the exhibit. Damon Soule breaks down forms with machinery & geometric shapes & plasters it on a mixed media backdrop reflecting the irony of capitalism & complexity. Don't sleep kids, come check it. B. Easy.

Thoughts and Ideas--Heavy
A Sit Down with Liz
There's a treat in Philadelphia. You can find it on 16th and Pine.
In the quest to find a boutique that is a perfect balance between streetwear and femininity we found Omoi. The location of the store and the window display happen to be distinctive aspects of the store. Instead of showcasing feature merchandise like the Hysteric Glamour line or Upper Playground, Liz decided to evoke curiosity by placing bright checkered umbrellas and the lifestyle key items. Drawing on her experience of living in Japan she brings you cheeky jewels, fire tees and gorgeous handmade kimono tops from Philly based Keiko Ozaki, if your daring enough. You can even cop a pair of Jeremy Fish pillows or a Sam Flores ashtray, you can place that adjacent to the the new copy of Swindle.
When asked about inspiration she simply stated that she "marches to the beat of her own drum machine." If anything she likes to check out what Yoppi is doin with it. Liz sees Philadelphia as "inspired, unique, and comfortable" Location sets her apart from other stores in the city. But its really the merchandise that makes Omoi a jewel among the brownstones. Of course we had to ask her about music. She sweetly replied that she is "currently in a rock-a-billy phase." Immediately we told her that the Kings of Leon would be in town in a few days and shes already seen em, twice. Shopping around you will hear a mad decent mix of everything.
Look out for Hellz Bellz in the fall. Punk never died.

the creative & the conscious
Strickly For The SuperFemale.
London raised Karen Jane founded Not Bad For A Girl(NBFG) in 2006. The young designer is holding it down in a men driven industry. Through her dedication & her work she has established a company that is not only respected, but a prominent player in streetwear. There are few females who are taken seriously in the industry, but NBFG retains femininty while projecting an edge. Karen's boldness & love for the daily grind can be attributed to her upbringing," I was an eighties child growing up in a town in the middle of nowhere. I hung around with my older brother mostly tagging-along with him and his mates, doing stuff they did. I'd take my hands off the handle-bars going downhill even though I'd wipe-out. I'd climb trees even though I'd scrape my knees. I would risk a dead arm trying to sneak off with the latest Electro album on tape..". Her "love over game plan" comes out in her T-shirts. Not only is Karen making a name for herself in a men dominated industry, but she's giving back to a community as well. 5% of every purchase made through this site is donated to Cancer Research UK in memory of my brave Mum, Patricia Ann. NBFG is the reality & Karen Jane is a key playa.
Compelling Prose, Stunning Imagery!
Sneaker Marmalade(SM) brings more then just fresh pics of kicks. From interviews with brand spokespersons to collectors this sneaker magazine is aiming to raise the bar. SM is printed in both English & French & is advised by the great Thomas Giorgetti(Sneaker Addict Paris). To all you sneakerheads get up on this mag, because its dope.
End-To-End.

Adidas teamed up with Foolocker & then collaborated with 7 graffiti artists to create 1 collection in 3 days. The collection has a few nice pieces, especially the Stan Smiths by SIloette. I'm all about the satin linning in this shoe. The Pro Lawn jawns by Can2 & Atom are something to talk about, also. I'm not the biggest Adidas fan, but I appreciate this project to no end.
Go Getta.
Prominent female graffiti artist Siloette definitely has something to say & even more to show. She manages to keep girly by using pastel colors & mystical characters. Damn it sure is good to be a girl.
Ice, Ice, Baby
Glam Demons by Hypethetic have swarovski crystals and a velvet tongue. Yea I'm all about these kicks. They will be mine. Yes sir.
