Trend Spot

Stage Lashes
Once considered more of a luxury item worn by celebrites on red carpets, fancy false lashes are becoming available at a decent price point thanks to companies like, Make up Forever, Shu Uemura, and MAC cosmetics.

Makeup, like fashion, should never be taken too seriously. Experiment and have fun!

Out of the Box

Style.com has the most user-friendly website when it comes down to fashion show coverage. It's excellent because the pictures are specific to your catagory of interest. I always begin with the beauty section, so that I can get a feel for where the collection is going, then the details, and finally the complete collection, which I do in a slideshow rotation. Galliano always uses Pat McGrath to construct the faces. She is the global creative director of Max Factor Cosmetics and an absolutely phenomenal artist, check the record. The creativity between the two of them pushes the limits of conventional beauty which offers a spectrum of opportunity for anyone to achieve a desired look no matter how 'out of the box' it may appear. The John Galliano collection was so much fun to go through. I decided to highlight these amazing shoes, they truly defy the standards for footwear, love it. As well as some makeup and hair. The rest of the commentary on the collection can be handled by the people that were there and the man himself with the video attached to the post. Apprécier!

Love how the lip gloss looks like it is dripping off of Jessica Stam's lips.

Get Yours

MAC Cosmetics is offering customers one last chance to pick up products that they will be discontinuing. Included are a full range of items in some great colors. I'm sad to see one of my favorite Blushcremes, Sweet William, to go. If you have never tried the Blushcremes, they are super light, offer a dewy finish, and are great for highlighting. I find that the best results come with blending with fingers. They are also great for layering products, like pigments which adhere really well if put on last. There are plenty more items available for all areas of the face. As always with makeup, Have Fun.

The Beautiful Fall

Check this Fall Makeup Preview from the New York Times Style Magazine, MAC Pro Make up Artist, Sharon Dowsett, takes on dark jewel tones, daring colorways, and applies shiny lids while drawing inspiration from the majesty of nature.

Experimenting with colors this season invites creativity and customization. Make up pros were using lipsticks on eyes paired with loose pigments or shimmers to cement the hue and create texture. A return to the eighties has opened up a reason to exaggerate cosmetics. Recently at the Behnaz Sarafpour Fall runway show, Gucci Westman, gave models purple racoon-like eyes. Badgely Mischka showed gold lids with green peeking out in the inner corners. Fendi offered more of a smokey golden eye with extension to the brow and finished with a strongly arched brow. Finally, my last pick is from Baby Phat, yes diva. The dark and heavy eye finished with an eye gloss in the crease and lips stained red. Enjoy!

Wicked Style

Fafi Comes To M.A.C!

Famed French graffiti artist, Fafi, has been announced as the latest artist to do a collaboration with the cosmetic company. The line is looking rather large. From what I have seen we are looking at foundation, two eye shadow quads, which really means eight different colors, six paint pots, six lipsticks, four shades of lip glass, two iridescent powders, two shades of nail polish, and some character bags. That's alot of product! No word if all of this is coming to the US, but it is for sure that you will be able to play with new fun makeup soon. As with all the collections this will be a limited edition run. M.A.C's limited edition's usually sell out quick, and this one especially will be sure to hit big with the make-up junkies I'm sure. Fafi's signature "Fafinettes" will grace the packaging as well as the ad campaign. Expect the colorful products to hit counters February 13th and hot girls to be strutting everywere. This will drop just in time for fresh Spring looks. Bold colors have been all over the runways and nothing shows more confidence than a girl that can carry color. Have fun and be original!
