Face Forward
Here are some quick looks I am putting together for the Just B Prom Expo in Springfield, MA. Bianca Jackson, the owner of the store, is putting together a great event at the Mass Mutual Center in downtown Springfield for her loyal customers that have been waiting for an event from her. Prom season is the busiest for Just B because Springfield has about six big high schools and five colleges. That's not including the surrounding towns that come to the store for her unique dresses. This year Bianca decided to use her resources in the city to provide a one stop shop for girls to preview dresses, make appointments for hair and makeup, find accessories, limos, and everything else to make your special night amazing. Three of the best salons in Springfield will be participating in a fashion show with music provided by Hot 93.7, the area's best station for hip hop and R&B. I'm really excited to be doing another event with the Just B family, and to be getting some help from my boys at the Vipers Nest Tattoo. The boys, who are amazing graffiti artists will be painting on models, we always have a good time together. More details as the Expo draws closer.
Some prototypes if you will...
Dope cheetah gloves with gold chainlinks around the fingers are Betsey Johnson and available at Smak Parlour on Market Street in Old City Philadelphia.
"Fly With Me" ring is Betsey Johnson available at the Betsey Johnson store on Newbury Street in Boston, MA. Sid Vintage tee available at Sid Vintage in Northampton, MA. One of the longest running shops in that town. Army Guy necklace by Laura Luv, tryin to get her to make more!

Leader of the Pack- Kelly
Kelly, the creative mind behind WolfBait USA, uses imported Japanese fabrics to create adorable handbags of all shapes and sizes for city dolls. The linings in the bags vary giving the items a one-of-a-kind hand touched appeal. Made in South Philly and sold at the hot boutique, Omoi, and at Etsy.com, Wolfbait uses pop culture references to make these bags feverishly relevant and adorably cute! Check out her myspace page and her Etsy page to purchase bags. You can also see Kelly behind one of America's top dive bars, and Rife favorite, Bob and Barbara's.

Class Act
Leading ladies, and I stress the word ladies, Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman are on the cover of March's W Magazine. They star in the movie, The Other Boleyn Girl, due out February 29th. The story is based on a best-selling novel by Philippa Gregory. A quick synopsis, the girls are sisters from the English countryside that are driven by thier family to court the King of England. They are both clever competitors, one driven by a fierce ambition for power and the other by genuine affection. I think it's a great excuse to put two of the most talented and beautiful girls in Hollywood on the cover of one of the industry's best magazines. Often I am disgusted with the choices of the covergirls we have to look at and the nonsensical tabloids that exploit them. The pictures were done by Steven Klein and styled by W fashion director Alex White. Click here for the article.

Trembled Blossoms- James Jean and Prada
Santa Monica based artist, James Jean, has collaborated with Prada composing some outstanding wallpaper treatments for thier flagship stores in New York City and Beverly Hills. The images used on the walls were transferred onto the transparent luxe fabrics of the Spring 08 collection. The Italian fashion house unveiled a collection of tone elegant dresses that gave off a vintage aesthetic with a modern twist to enhance the artistic and romantic mood of Spring.

Anna Sui: Fall 2008
Of all the New York collections this past week, I thought that Anna Sui really made the girls look beautiful. Pat McGrath did the makeup, of course. The textures and direction of her Fall 08 collection is stunning. Enjoy.
